In case of non working POD, it can be good start to check the relay that is used to stop it by shorting the 3 phases.
1/ Check the relay
- it should emit an audible "click" when switched from OFF to ON
- its transparent cover allow to see the contact moving from one side to the other and confirm it is working properly
- if not working as video below, you may check the relay fuse ( it should have a small 1 A fuse ), check if it is properly powered by a 12V or 24V signal
- you may as well check if the relay voltage rating is correct ( the reference on the top of the relay contains 12 or 24 )
2/ Disable the relay for a short test
The relay's working principle is to short the generator phases when its coil is not powered by a 12V supply ( or 24V depending on model # )
This means that if broken, it will hold the generator shorted and braked.
To disable the brake, you can disconnect the row of the 3 connectors that are all attached together, as red-circled in following picture
This way you can momentary remove the short and check if it solve the problem.
3/ Changing the relay
In case of need, you order a replacement part
Please mention the voltage rating
