Step-by-step instructions for converter update (with MAC)

Material needed : 

• Use a mini / micro USB cable to connect your converter to your windows :
  • If the serial number of the converter si under or equal to 1630 -> use a mini USB 
  • if the serial number of the converter is over 1630 -> use a micro USB

Step 1 :

Step 2 : 

In your download folder, double click on the driver file macOS_ftdi_drivers.dmg to install it.

Step 3 :

Once the driver is installed, you can unzip the file macOS CV-03_diag_tool2.0.9.zip.

Step 4 : 

Then you can launch the diagtool. Your MAC could ask your security agreement to open the diag tool file. Accept it.

Step 5 : 

The diagtool is now lauched.

Step 6 : 

Open the upper part of your convert by disassambling the 4 screws of the white plastic rectangular cap. Onece the screws are completely untighten / removed, you will need to remove the white plastic cap. It is lightly glued with soft silicon. Step 7 : 

With the convert powered with the 12/24V batteries, connect an USB cable (micro or mini usb depending on the convert version) between the convert and your computer.

Step 8 : 

Once the convert is connected to the MAC and the convert is powered, you should be able to select a new Serial Port in the diagtool software and click on "Connect". The name of Serial Port can change from one computer to another. It can take 20 secondes before all the parameters are uploaded.

Step 9 : 

Once the converter is connected, you can update the converter settings (in Settings - warning the voltage have to be modified in milivot mV) or switch to the Tab "Firmware"

Step 10 :

Put the .hex file on your Desktop.

Step 11 : 

In the diagtool, select the .hex file by clicking on the button "firmware selection", once selected you can click on the button "Program". The new version on the firmware will be installed on the converter. It should take 30 seconds.

Step 12 : 

Once programmation finished, you can disconnect the USB cable. The update is done and the converter can be closed again.
